Sleeping; perhaps dreaming

Playing with texture and edge using somewhat painterly brushwork on a heavy wooden panel (48in. x 24in.).  

Harsh interior light dances fleetingly across the foreground, yet steadily glows from a dreamscape hinted at behind the sleeping figure.

Historic Portraits

Each work in this ongoing series is painted from old, mostly black and white photographs. Done in oil on specialty paper or linen, all slightly different.  They range in size from 9" x 11" to 18" x 24", and, though decidedly impressionistic, vary in style according to my experience of the characters through their contributions to culture. In their own way, I believe each of these people was "before their time" and made a lasting impression on our collective psyche.

Little Portrait of Nikola Tesla

This little portrait of Tesla inspired me to produce my ongoing series of historic portraits. 

 It was painted in oil on 300# watercolor paper, and measures 9" wide x 11" tall. Original is sold. Unframed prints available for USD 12.

Inverted Time

This experimental work was painted in oil on a canvas that was stretched over a three dimensional form. The painting's circular center is a few inches closer to the viewer than the piece's edges.
